CR Elections 2013

Dear All,

Notice is hereby given that elections will be held on Friday 25th January 2013 for the following positions on the CR Executive Committee:

– President
– Vice President
– Treasurer
– Secretary
– Welfare Officer

Nominations

Those wishing to stand must fill in their name on the sheet that will be placed on the CR Noticeboard (next to the bar) on the morning of Saturday 19th January. Nominations will close on Wednesday 23rd January at 5pm. To be eligible to stand for a position, you must be a CR fee-paying member and nominated by two fellow CR members. Only those members who are part of a course that will ordinarily continue into the next academic year can run for these positions.

Each candidate should submit a one-page manifesto to the CR Secretary (secretary@st-edmunds-cr.co.uk) by Wednesday 23rd January at 5pm. These will be placed on the CR noticeboard that evening.

Hustings will take place at 8pm on Thursday 24th January. Candidates must attend this event and be prepared to make a short speech about their manifesto and answer questions.

Voting

Elections will take place online on Friday 25th January between 00:00 and 22:00. Members are strongly encouraged to vote. Details of how to vote will be circulated early next week. Election will be by the ‘Single Transferable Vote’ system as decreed by the Electoral Commission.

Other CR Positions

Additional elections for other CR positions elected in Lent term will be held two weeks after these elections on the 8th February. Further information will follow.

Whisky Tasting

We will be hosting our first CR ‘tasting’ event on Monday 19th November from 8:30-10pm in collaboration with the Cambridge Wine Merchants. This is a ticketed event and you MUST BOOK IN ADVANCE.

Tickets cost £10 for CR Members, £15 for Fellows, staff and guests.

To reserve a place, please fill in the registration form at www.st-edmunds-cr.co.uk/tasting/book by Monday 12th November. Payments (cash or cheque) should be left at the College Reception in a sealed envelope clearly labelled with your name by Friday 16th November (cheques made payable to ‘St Edmund’s College Combination Room’).

  • Families Officer

  • Women’s Officer

There will also be by-elections for the following positions for the remainder of Michaelmas Term:

  • LGBT Officer
  • Environmental Officer
  • Punt Admiral
  • CR Finance Committee Member
